Nearly every day of the year, regardless of the weather, you can find Calgarians running, walking, riding, rolling and even skiing along 223 miles (360 kilometers) of paths. The network twists its way through countless municipal parks, alongside rivers and reservoirs, past skyscrapers, into valleys and through mini-forests, fields of wildflowers and other surprises. The Plus 15 Skyway network is a simply amazing network of skywalks across the city of Calgary. Designed by Harold Hanen, this award winning pedestrian system is 18 kilometers (11 miles) long and some 15 ft. (4.5 meters) above ground level. Effortlessly connecting the city, these walkways have been existing since 1970 and continue to do so.
This historic memorial called the Calgary Soldiers' Memorial is a monument that is dedicated to the soldiers of Calgary who lost their lives while serving their respective Regiments during war.
