"Explore The Forest Habitat"

Denge Wood is partly owned and maintained by the Forestry Commission and the Woodland Trust. It is a vast area of wilderness and habitat that houses various unique species of plants and animals. It spreads across 8 miles (12.88 kilometers) and is said to have been in existence since the 1600's. The woods house around 27 different species of butterflies along with various species of deer, lizards and birds. The woods are usually used for taking long walks and many locals arrange for guided tours into the woods. It is also used for horse-riding and attracts more and more visitors each year. Please note that a part of the forest is privately owned.
