"Home Of West Texas State"

Kimbrough Memorial Stadium opened in 1959 and is the home ground of West Texas A&M University. The stadium was prior known as Canyon Hill or Buffalo Bowl, but the name was changed in the year 1971, in memory of the university's football coach Frank Kimbrough. The stadium was built for hosting American Football club's tournaments, and now hosts tournaments for its home team and also for Canyon Independent District High School. The stadium also hosts tournaments for other sporting events like soccer, women's golf tournaments etc. It has been voted as being best stadiums by the students committee of the West Texas A&M University.
