In 1932, Alfred Hall purchased the Vineyard Theater and renamed it the Capawock Theater, after the important community hall of the same name that was located just down the street. The theater has recently undergone a massive restoration project that has left it gleaming and installed with top-of-the-line movie equipment. Visitors to the theater can take in a movie and can also catch live performances, depending on what the community is putting on at the time.
Brewster Gardens is located in the heart of the city on either side of Town Brook. The garden is an escape defined by lush plants and rolling lawns with a picturesque trail that runs along the stream and is perfect for casual strolls. Admire the many statues that dot the park or relax on one of the many benches by the water with your favorite book and enjoy nature at its best.
Escape Chatham's hustle and bustle and spend some peaceful time at the town's Kate Gould Park. Located close to the busy downtown area, it offers an idyllic atmosphere to unwind and spend a leisurely evening with friends or family. Every Friday night during summer season, Kate Gould comes alive with energetic performances by the 1880s-inspired Chatham Band, the town troupe that performs here every week in summer.
Far from the bustle of Cape Cod's tourist scene is the serene and magnificent Chapin Memorial Beach. This expansive beach boasts fine white sand and calm pristine water that's perfect for casual strolls, refreshing swims, and sunbathing.
