This internationally renowned gallery specializes in Early Californian and American paintings dating from 1880 through 1945. It also represents several estates. The gallery has produced several exceptional publications through the years and is always on the hunt for quality impressionist and modernist paintings from the aforementioned time period. Artists represented include Maurice Braun, Guy Rose, William Wendt, Edgar Payne, Granville Redmond and John Gamble. It is a must-see for any art lover while visiting the Carmel area.

Art exhibits are held year-round in the gallery portion of this venue, while small onstage productions take place in adjacent Cherry Hall. (The word "hall" is a bit of a misnomer as the theater seats only 50 people.) This is quite the community venue. It has been established for more than 50 years. Carmel Art Association Gallery offers an artistic dimension to this seaside town, which is otherwise mainly known for its natural beauty. Talented artists create magic on the canvas from classic to contemporary works, which are showcased regularly for the visitors to enjoy. The gallery also has works of historic figures such as Patricia Cunningham, Bill Bates, Helen Barker and more, adding more novelty to the place.

If you like photography, this is the gallery for you. Here you can view, as well as purchase, the works of local and international photographic artists. Most of the works of art are done in black and white, however a few are in color. The gallery has a large collection of Ansel Adams famous photographs of Yosemite National Park. Found here are a collection by renowned artists such as Steven Alexander, Antonio Vasquez and Larry Bell, along with works by talented, local artists. Apart from their permanent collection, the gallery also features themed exhibitions wherein different ideas are creatively expressed and discussed.

A unique gallery and museum at the heart of the city, Picard Trade Bead Museum and African Art Gallery features an intriguing collection of decorative jewelry. Home to fascinating collection of handicrafts and bead ornaments, the museum depicts the use of colorful beads in various African and South American cultures. The museum also features a collection of historical artifacts, art work, sculpture and other objects relevant to African culture.
