The main-stage of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Heinz Hall was built as an ornate movie theater in the late 1920s. It was only in 1971 that it was rechristened to its present name after a major renovation. Acoustically rich and adorned with elegant fittings, this grand venue also hosts comedy shows and other live performances. Besides the symphony orchestra's concerts, well-known artists such as Steely Dan, Amy Schumer and Jason Mraz have performed here in the past.
Located approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Pittsburgh, in O'Hara Township, the Bayernhof Music Museum features many popular as well as rare musical instruments from the 19th and 20th Centuries. Apart from this, it also displays various ephemera and artifacts related to music. The museum is housed within an old German mansion that overlooks the Allegheny River. Open all week, the Bayernhof Museum makes for an interesting visit.
Home to Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates, this ballpark, with its seating capacity of more then 38,000, has been entertaining thousands upon thousands of fans since 2001. It is considered one of the best facilities in the country. Once you are here, take the time to check out the imposing arches and brick exterior. Parking is ample around the ballpark.

Nestled in Pittsburgh's Allegheny neighborhood, the Byers Hall, was the former residence of Alexander M. Byers, along with an adjoining building occupied by his daughter, Mrs. J. Denniston Lyons. Designed by the Alden & Harlow firm, this structure was established in 1898 as Byers-Lyons House. The entire building features contrasting styles; Byers' side reflects Victorian architecture, while the Lyons' portion Edwardian. Byers Hall currently functions as the administrative building of the Community College of Allegheny County.
The Aspinwall region in Pennsylvania is bestowed with a fine historical site in the form of the Sauer Buildings Historic District. These monumental buildings are precisely located between 607 and 717 Center Avenue, and are designed and constructed by the eminent Fredrick C. Sauer. The district spans over a massive 30 acres (120,000 square meters). The buildings in this districts were erected and established from 1898 thorough 1942 and moreover exemplify the Colonial Revival, Fantastic and the Medieval Revival styles of architecture. It also stands registered on the National Register of Historic Places.
The St. Peter's Church is a historic church located in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. The structure was built in 1843 and holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously running parish in the region. The Gothic Revival style parish was built primarily for the Irish immigrant population in the region and features stained glass windows depicting French soldiers who had prayed at the spot many decades ago. The cemetery adjoining the church is the only one with heated graves.
The St. Nicholas Croatian Church is a graceful historic church built in 1922. Designed by noted architect Frederick C. Sauer, it has a simple yet stunning architecture. It has been a part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1922 and has been in continuous service from the time of its inception. The church is particularly famous for the murals made by Maxo Vanka.
St. Stanislaus Kostka Church is a magnificent structure that stands close to the eastern bank of the Allegheny River, in Pittsburgh's Strip neighborhood. Established in 1892, this church features beautiful Romanesque architecture, designed by Frederick C. Sauer. Stained glass windows, Latin inscriptions, murals and religious art, decorate the interior of the church. Apart from regular Sunday masses, services are also held on weekdays to serve the business people in the area.
