"13th Century Church of Chartham"

Church of St Mary, Chartham, dates back to the 13th Century and has some excellent specimens of Kentish tracery in the windows. The lovely stained glass windows date back to 1294. Although some of the glass in these windows was renewed, they still maintain their original beauty and character. Those interested in architecture will be awed by the magnificent timber roofs and scissor-trussed rafters, while those more inclined towards history will find the various brasses of particular note, especially that of Sir Robert de Septvans which is one of the oldest in the country. Visitors are welcome to join in the services or explore the church and the marks left upon it by the many generations it has served,
