Bidwell Mansion, located on 525 Esplanade in Chico, California was constructed by John Bidwell in May 1868. The mansion features a remarkable façade which bears allusions to the Italianate style of architecture. Comprised of three floors, the house functions as a museum today and offers a glimpse at the life and times of John Bidwell and his family. An in-house tour of the mansion can be undertaken, and visitors can additionally explore the scenic park which encompasses the property. A gift shop is also located within the premises.
