Layer Marney Tower

A historic Tudor style palace is an ancient construction dating back to the 15th century. The palace comprises of several tall buildings, gardens and parkland. In 1884, the building suffered a considerable damage from a major earthquake. Further, the premises was restored and expanded by the next owner Walter De Zoete. He built spacious gardens, a tea house and a long gallery for displaying a collection of paintings, furniture and artifacts. The palace gardens are honored as an English Heritage site and are open for public visits at very less rates. The tower is a popular location for film projects, television series and wedding ceremonies.
