Bowen Road Walking Path

The Bowen Road Walking Path extends for over three kilometers (1.8 miles) from the Mid-levels at the intersection of Garden and Robinson Roads to Stubbs Road. This verdant walking path is covered with trees and was carved out of a hillside. It is immensely popular with walkers and joggers. The Bowen Road Walking Path also hosts the Bowen Road Park and landmarks like the Lover's Rock or Yan Yuen-Suk, which assumes much importance on the Maiden's Day Festival in mid-August when it is besieged by unmarried women who hope that its unique powers will help them find a mate. This rooftop path which affords stunning views of Central and Happy Valley is also equipped with exercise stations and tai chi parks along with several small religious shrines.

Cheung Chau Windsurfing Centre

On the east coast of Cheung Chau's narrow isthmus, perched on a rocky outcrop between Tung Wan and Kwun Yam Wan beaches, sits the top-notch Cheung Chau Windsurfing Centre. The centre is run by the uncle of former world champion and Olympic gold medal winner Lee Lai-Shan, and it's where she developed her windsurfing skills as a young woman. It has qualified instructors, great facilities, and a good range of equipment. Windsurfers or kayaks can be hired, or water babies can book one of the centre's instructors for a lesson. After a work-out on the water, batteries can be recharged with a lime soda and chips or a glass of chilled white and a selection of tapas at the breezy, chilled seaside café.

Sai Kung

Sai Kung is a peninsula located on the east side of the New Territories and is a popular destination for fishing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, camping and boating. Visitors can hire sampans (small taxi-boats) for leisurely harbor trips, or stroll around Sai Kung's town center, which hosts a fresh-fish market displaying various kinds of seafood in big tanks. Customers can pick whatever fish they fancy, take it to a nearby restaurant of their choice, and request the fish to be cooked in a certain way. After that, it is just a case of relaxing until the sumptuous seafood feast is served.
