This nice, family-run guest house in the city center offers accommodation at very good prices for its location and a stylish ambiance. The rooms are squeezed onto the third and fourth floors of a big, streetside building that also holds a McDonalds, just off Kärtnerstrasse. One might sum up the approach as a fusion of traditional Viennese hospitality and modern comforts. The ceilings are low, but the rooms are spacious with cozy, feminine decor. A buffet-style breakfast is served in a long, narrow dining room.
First opened in 1991, the Altstadt Hotel proved itself a hit rather swiftly. Centrally set in a beautiful patrician house just west of the Museumsquartier and very close to Mariahilferstrasse, it has great decor with a mixture of new designer lighting and bold colored walls, as well as some nice old-fashioned features. The rooms are very spacious, have polished parquet floors and high ceilings, and a handful overlook a peaceful courtyard. The breakfast buffet is superb and the service excellent.
Rooms are located between the ground floor and the third floor in an ancient Viennese apartment house (with historic elevator). The majority of the rooms are furnished in traditional Viennese style with chandeliers. All rooms have a shower, toilet, telephone, TV, minibar, and free access to our wireless network. One floor has been completely updated - these non-smoking rooms are equipped in modern style with wooden floor, private safe and flat screen TV. Children twelve years old and younger can stay free of charge.
