Guru restaurant provides you with one of the few authentic Indian and Pan-Asian culinary experiences in downtown Copenhagen. The restaurant is located very close to both Tivoli Garden and the Town Square, making it the perfect place to get some food on the go. Guru's to-go menu consists of a range of Indian fast food items which are made from fresh ingredients and authentic spices and are healthy options despite being fast food. So come to this restaurant and, if you are in a hurry, just get your food to go.
This big Indian restaurant is close to the Town Hall Square. Indian artwork, such as sculptures of Hindu goddesses, create a special atmosphere along with the sweet music all over the restaurant. The Indian buffet is very popular. It contains two different soups, papadam bread and various hot dishes with chicken, beef and vegetables. At lunch the restaurant offers a smaller-and cheaper-buffet. There is choice of a la carte dishes as well. Try the mango lassi! At lunchtime it is usually easy to get a seat, which is sometimes difficult in the evening.
Since having been founded in 1996, Al-Diwan (meaning "cozy sitting room for royal guests") has placed itself amongst the leading and most respected Indian restaurants in town. This is due partly to the high quality of its very spicy Tandoori and Biryani dishes from the Indian and Pakistani cuisines, and partly to its unusual selection of traditional Indian/Pakistani desserts.
