Teatr Muzyczny Roma seems to have found the formula for success: mix popularity with excellent content and the result is a successful challenge to even the National Opera. The theater presents everything from opera to musicals to contemporary concerts and any other performance that seems to fit. For the epic production of Peter Pan, the set designers created one of the most elaborate stage sets in Polish theater history. The building has recently been renovated, giving it a classy edge with an elegant flair.

Taking pride in her efforts to preserve and nurture the art of revue, theater, ballet and cabaret, Małgorzaty Potockiej, the founder of the Teatr Sabat, is herself a graduate from the Warsaw School of Ballet. The Teatr Sabat is now a center for revue and cabaret with dinner and show facilities on its premises. Set in an auditorium, albeit, in a more comfortable seating arrangement, the audience is served with a buffet dinner just before the beginning of the show. Apart from the revue lineup, modern dance shows also form a regular feature in the theater, considering its popularity among the crowd. With traditional cuisine of smoked salmon served along with fish appetizers as well as delicious salads and revue deserts, the dinner and show opportunity provided by the theater is certainly not to be missed. Opera lovers pay heed: Poland's Grand Opera, the Teatr Wielki, knows how to put on a show. Performances are always elaborate and sometimes over-the-top huge. Among favorite performances are Zorba the Greek with full choir accompaniment, La Traviata and a fabulous Nabucco. Set designs have been known to be so elaborate that the audience applauds spontaneously upon seeing them! This is definitely a fine night out. Proper dress is recommended.

Teatr Ateneum features fine actors and commercial plays. Many of the plays are successful foreign dramas which are translated into Polish; for example, "The Dresser" or "Tea With Stalin". Some of Poland's most famous actors appear here, to boot. Also featured at the theater are cabaret and musical performances by renowned artists and groups. The Warsaw Chamber Opera building itself is a gem, and worth a visit, if not just for the cute cafe on one side. The chamber opera is fantastic and one of the most intimate theater experiences in the city. This is the home of the Mozart festival. The opera is under the direction of Stefan Sutkowski and highly recommended. Tickets can be bought at the opera itself.

Teatr Nowy (New Theater) presents original and different plays. Often there are premiers, and theater lovers from around the city will be in attendance. Most of the performed plays are contemporary and written by Polish authors. The theater often make use of elaborate stage effects, lighting, and costumes.
