A relative newcomer to Silom Soi 4, The Balcony attracts a growing crowd of customers, thanks to its size and variety. It features extensive outdoor seating, with all the usual posing and people-watching opportunities. Inside you will find a long, circular bar and some very comfortable sofas. Upstairs, the balcony provides a good view of the soi and a Karaoke lounge caters to wannabe divas. Service is efficient and attentive, with cheaper drinks than usual for the area and a typical Soi 4 menu (mainly Thai with some Western dishes). They're open everyday from 5.30pm. The Australian owner Grahame Lynch belongs to Wasabi Bytes, an electro band that plays here regularly. Unsurprisingly then, the aura here is absolutely unpretentious and is mostly thronged by earnest audiophiles. A raw industrial vibe surrounds this place, with oversized leather couches dominating an otherwise barren space, and only small bulb fixtures for illumination. Guests can also sit out on the small balcony that overlooks the street, as they down signature cocktails named after renowned train routes.

A lesser known speakeasy, this is where you can expect to have a laid-back yet enjoyable round of drinks, after a busy day. Well-stocked with a variety of imported spirits, brews and wines; no matter what your choice of drink, this bar is certain to provide. While the spirits might be impressive, its the mixed drinks that steal the show here.
