Dajia Riverside Park

Located along the banks of Keelung River, Dajia Riverside Park is a popular destination for locals of Taipei for a fun and relaxing day out. Part of the greenery project undertaken by the city, the park provides a a much needed reprieve from the urban jungle. The park has facilities for several sports including basketball, croquet and badminton. Visitors can also rent bikes and explore the long, winding bike trails which cut through the park. While here, make sure you stop by the beautiful fountain located at the center of the park.

Taipei Children's Recreation Center

This recreational center is divided into three thematic sections. The World of Yesterday teaches children about Taiwanese culture, indigenous tribes and folk art. The World of Today is an amusement park with carnival rides. The World of Tomorrow, which teaches children about science and technology, has a Space Theater with an IMAX screen. All tickets must be purchased at the main gate before entering.

Fu Lung Beach

Fu Lung, a short train trip north of Taipei, has one of the most popular beaches in northeastern Taiwan. To reach the beach, head down the street leading away from the train station and turn left at the stoplight. Water sports, barbecuing equipment, beach chairs and tents are available for a fee. Beach volleyball nets are set up on the sand, but bring your own volleyballs.
