B.A.T.S. is a restaurant, steak bar and music lounge all rolled into one. Dance the night away from 10.30pm, or simply sit back and soak in the lively atmosphere, while listening to R&B and disco music. If you work up an appetite there are delicious steaks as well as other American-snacks to devour. Beers and cocktails are available to quench your thirst. Cozy and dimly lit, the bar features excellent local and foreign live performances. The party never leaves the B.A.T.S! They have happy hour from 5p to 10p.

Fitting very much into the so-called gastropub genre, Union is a veritable haven for Jakarta's yuppies (and a few older types as well). However, this is definitely not a case of style over substance, since the food is of the very highest order and meticulously prepared. Take, for example, the Bourbon pork ribs. They have been slow roasted for a long six hours, and it shows since it is incredibly tender and utterly delicious. Moreover, some concessions have been made to local tastes, although the creativity has always been maintained. Mie ayam (chicken noodles) with foie gras anyone? If you don't fancy anything too heavy, dig into a freshly baked item from Union's bakery.
