This cozy coffee shop in down town near Town Square Park has been serving coffee, oatmeal, and sandwiches since 1998. The coffee shop is known for its popular front porch, where guests can hang out, and for the mostly organic and environmentally-minded ingredients used in all of the served food and drinks.
If the coffee does not wake you up, the decor will. Two stories of colorful fun, the downstairs is painted blue and yellow and the upstairs is a mix of primary colors, all topped by changing art displays. Here, regulars and tourists meet, searching for their morning buzz. Its baked goods come from the local French Oven and include bagels, scones and biscotti. A full service espresso and coffee counter offers lattes and house coffee.
This coffee and espresso “lab” is the “mothership” of SteamDot coffee roasters operations, where visitors can get a poured java or espresso drink and watch the signature Sivetz air-roaster in action. The coffee shop is also one of two in Anchorage run by the taste-makers-in-coffee Steamdot. The other one, Benson Coffee Bar, is in Mid-Town.
