This is where the Walt Disney Company has been working its magic since 1923. Relocated from its original studio at Silver Lake, the Burbank studio was established after the monumental success of the 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The international headquarters of this iconic company, this state-of-the-art facility offers its services in the fields of film production, music publishing, stage production, distribution, and marketing. The site spans over 51 acres (21 hectares) and features notable structures like the Michael D. Eisner Building, Disney Legends Plaza, and the Frank G. Wells Building, among others. There is also a provision at the Main Theater to showcase first-run Disney movies for special guests. A colossal landmark on 500 South Buena Vista Street, the studio is unfortunately not open to the public, but hoists gigantic head constructions of Mickey Mouse and the Seven Dwarves over its steep red-bricked walls for passers-by to savor.

Spread over 4,310 acres (1,744 hectares) of the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, Griffith Park is often referred to as "the Central Park of Los Angeles". The municipal park is one of North America's largest urban green spaces. 160 acres (65 hectares) of unspoiled nature can be seen at the east point of the Santa Monica mountains at Runyon Canyon Park. This pet-friendly park has two southern entrances and a northern entrance at Mulholland Drive. Go for a hike or head to the play area where your kids can play. Keep your camera ready as celebrities are known to unwind here as well.

Venice is known for its beach, the glorious stretch of pristine white sands, the warm sunshine and the palm trees making for the perfect postcard. You need not step onto the beach to experience the vibrant culture of Venice, just walk along the bustling boardwalk and you will see the local scene unfold before you. Watch the street performers mesmerize spectators with their talents, buy something unique from any of the shops that line the Boardwalk, or catch the attraction that is the Muscle Beach, which features an amazing outdoor gym and is extremely popular among weightlifters and gymnasts.

Perched over the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica, "The Pier" feels more like a carnival than a place to shop. Cirque du Soleil pitches their tent on the beach here annually, and there are concerts and dances on the weekends in the summer. In addition to the many restaurants and souvenir stands, there is a full-service amusement park with a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, carousel, and arcade. One of the most telling symbols of Los Angeles, the Hollywood Sign is perched sky-high on Mount Lee. This popular piece of signage was originally set up in 1923 to serve as an advertising gimmick for real estate development, only to become as legendary as its abode in the years that followed the Golden Age of Hollywood. Overlooking the urbane sprawl of its namesake neighborhood, the sign glistens under the Californian sun, profoundly iconic in its stark white lettering that stands at a height of 44 feet (13.4 meters). Swathes of barricades and restricting gates prevent access to the sign, even as adventurous individuals attempt to trespass it. Part of an everlasting cultural fabric that blankets the city of Los Angeles and perhaps all of America, this historical sign has come to be one of the most tangible aspects of Hollywood's fantastical realm.

Located in Diamond Bar, about 20 miles west of Ontario and 45 minutes outside of downtown Los Angeles, this park nestled in the hills offers tons of things to do in the great outdoors. The entirety of the park encompasses 50-acres, however only four of them are developed. One of the highlights, in addition to an abundance of space, is the babbling brook that meanders through the woods. While upon the trails, the viewpoints offer superb views of the canyons as well as the cities in the distance. Overall, a great place to hike or to exercise along the well-manicured trails.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a star-studded attraction that immortalizes deserving performers of every stripe; a constellation of famous personalities laid out along the sidewalk. The Walk of Fame is very much a tribute to Johnny Grant, the former mayor of Hollywood and a relentless promoter of Tinsel Town. Encompassing a stretch of the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard, near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, more than 2600 brass-inlaid, terrazzo stars honor some of the most famous personalities of the entertainment industry, including movie stars, radio-show hosts, recording artists, film directors, TV personalities and stage actors. New stars are added frequently, an event that is accompanied by much pomp and show, creating an ever-evolving chronicle of Hollywood's vibrant legacy.

This is a non-profit group that plants trees and teaches the community about environmental issues. It plants both native and exotic plants. The tour is for children and is located in Coldwater Canyon Park, a 45-acre area where children can learn about the plants around them as well as spend some time gardening. Kids are taught about recycling and how they can help in their everyday lives to protect the environment and the future of the planet.

One of Santa Monica's most prized possessions, this Southern Californian waterfront state park is the closest landmark to the iconic Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade. Equipped with modern amenities such as volleyball courts, serene picnic spots and scenic swimming zones, this golden-sand landscape houses something that sets it apart from everything else in the vicinity: Muscle Beach, a haven for bodybuilding exhibitions and gymnastic presentations. A sunbather's haven, the beach has also hosted special events like the world-famous Cirque du Soleil, transforming the place into a dynamo of energy, music and vivid colors. The Santa Monica Ferris Wheel is one of the state park's most noticeable attractions.

Nestled amid the Santa Monica Mountains, the Topanga State Park spans 11,000 acres (4,451 hectares) of land area and dazzles visitors with spellbinding views of both the ocean and the valley. Undulating grasslands, coastal scrublands, and woodlands mainly characterize the diverse topography of this sprawling park which affords a world of serenity and peace. There are great hiking trails, some of which offer the opportunity to study the ecology and geology of the area as you traverse the scenic paths. The park also facilitates activities such as horseback riding, camping, and mountain biking. Additionally, you can drop by the visitor center located onsite.
