The latest live music destination to open in the city of Sheffield, O2 Academy Sheffield, is the youngest in a string of venues owned and operated by Academy Music Group. Hosting a range of live music shows, it is the reincarnated form of the defunct Roxy nightclub, which had seen several huge stars in its heyday. The main auditorium seats 2350 guests and the excellent sound system is guaranteed to get the crowd on its feet. Since its opening, the venue has been host to sell-out shows by the best musicians and bands around. Punk, pop, rock and heavy metal are its mainstay. The Academy also offers a smaller private room with a capacity of 600 for events besides live shows.

Complete with columns and a portico, the hall is steeped in history, and is yet a symbol of contemporary art and entertainment.
