Oscar Niemeyer Museum is a renowned institution, known for its impressive display of artistic and architectural designs. The building, constructed by Niemeyer, is a work of art in itself. It has a geometrical design, with structures built in spherical and rectangular volumes. The theme of the museum displays are visual art and architecture. Exhibitions held here showcase paintings, sculptures, as well as designs of various structures. The museum is also called Museum of the Eye, because of Niemyer's design of the annex, which symbolizes the eye. Unveiled in July 8, 2003 for the second time, this museum has become a cultural hub for artists and architects across the globe.
Museu do Automovel is an automobile-enthusiast's delight. Managed by the Clube de Antiguidades Automotivas do Paraná (CAAMP), it was established in 1976 and has 74 permanent exhibits and segregated into groups: classic, vintage, milestones and antique. All these restored beauties have been part of history whether it was in racing or by its make. Tucked away in the Parque Barigui, Museu do Automovel is definitely a site to visit for these lovely old automobiles.
Museu Municipal de Arte (MuMA) was established in 1988 and features a collection of artworks including folk art from Poty Lazzarotto, Mohamed Ali El Assal, Jorge Carlos Sade, Andrade Muricy, Ben Ami and Cleusa Salomão. It also showcases a few reputed Paraná artists in the contemporary art scene such as Karina Weidle, Dulce Osinski, Luciano Buchmann and Eliane Prolik. The Sala Célia Neves Lazzarotto contains the permanent exhibition of Celia and Poty Lazzarotto's personal collection which has Pancetti, Picasso and many other great painters.
