Princeville Ranch

There are four parts to the Princeville Ranch: stables, hiking and kayaking adventures, retreats, and sunset dinner and wagon rides. The ranch spans 2,500 acres (1,011 hectares) of jungle, river and fields. Hikers and horseback riders can traverse the bluffs, explore the hills and relax by hidden waterfalls. Each part of the ranch handles its own affairs and has its own office hours. Activities start at USD 59 and advance reservations are required. Kauai Backcountry Adventures

Make your way to this establishment located off Highway 56 in Hanama'ulu. Choose between Backcountry Zipline and Mountain Tubing tours—the first has you dressed up in a swimsuit, sitting in a tube(you read that right!)-making your way through streams and canals. The second option will make you feel the wind beneath your wings! You harness yourself with a rope that extends from a mountain to a valley across water bodies and trees. Then you simply descend at the most rapid speed possible, aided by gravity! The tours are offered in an area of 17,000 acres, formerly occupied by plantations.

Wailua River Guides

Located on the banks of the Wailua River, this tour company specializes in river kayaking tours. The five hour tours include a kayak, paddles, lunch and a day of fun along the scenic Wailua River. The tour journeys past Hawaiian cultural sites, jungles and finally a short hike to a waterfall for lunch a swim and lots of fun. If you are experienced at wild water fun, equipment rentals are also available. Or if you prefer, you can experience the river in solitude. Located near Kuhio Highway, this small bike shop is a hidden delight among the numerous tourist trappings along the Coconut Coast. Koa Kea Activities

Located on the pool deck, this activities desk offers hotel guests the opportunity to rent snorkel gear, beach chairs, paddle boards and other equipment to enjoy a vacation. With Poipu Beach just steps away, the desk is the perfect spot to try snorkeling one day, then standup paddling the next. You can even try out a dive tour or to experience what other adventures the Garden Island has to offer. They also have surf lessons and canoe rides at prices that are reasonable. Ka Ala Hele Waiwai Ho'olina o Koloa

Also known as the Koloa Heritage Trail, this 10-mile path wanders through Koloa and can be enjoyed all at once, or in sections. Visitors are welcome to walk, drive, or even bike the trail to enjoy some of the areas unique attractions. The trail takes visitors to several spots within the Koloa district and includes natural attractions, historical temples, pristine bays and lush gardens. Those who experience the trail will experience the birthplace of Prince Kuhio, see Kauai's popular Spouting Horn geyser along with beautiful ocean vistas. Grand Hyatt Kauai Tennis Garden

Located on the grounds of the Grand Hyatt Kauai, this is definitely the swankiest tennis complex on the island. The complex is located just steps from the beach and other luxurious amenities of this huge luxury resort and features a pro shop complete with racquet rentals, round robin tournaments, machine rentals, lessons, clinics and more. For guests, there is one hour of complimentary daily court time, while others are welcome on a pay-as-you go basis.
