Mountain Farm Museum

Built in the 19th Century, the buildings that make up the Mountain Farm Museum are fascinating to explore. Visitors to the museum can wander around a Southern Appalachian log cabin, witness a working blacksmith shop, and stroll through a beautiful old barn. As the museum is located inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park, park rangers are almost always around to answer questions visitors may have, and a visitors center sits right next door.

Founded in 1948, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian preserves pieces of the tribe's history and exhibits the fine art that is unique to the tribe. Apart from the exhibitions, the museum is also involved in outreach programs that seek to renew an interest in tribal traditions including dance and basket weaving. Visitors can partake in these activities, explore exhibits, and purchase beautiful handmade crafts in the museum store.

TITANIC Museum Attraction

It is no wonder that the Titanic, the doomed luxury liner of lore, can still capture the minds of the public years after it sank. The opulence of that tragic boat lives on at the Titanic Museum, which is a half-scale replica of the original and spans across 30,000 square feet (2787.09 square meters). The replica features parlors, cabins, hallways and a recreation of the Grand Staircase. Hundreds of artifacts are displayed in its galleries. Visitors can enter the museum with a boarding pass bearing the name of a Titanic crew member or passenger and unravel their fate through the interactive displays that are scattered throughout the museum.
