The Anthill Pub on the UC Irvine campus has a a great drink selection and amazing pub food menu. If you're not sure what to order the fire ants dish, buffalo popcorn chicken with Louisiana hot sauce and blue cheese dipping sauce, is especially good. The rotating beer menu is carefully curated and has one of the best selections in all of Irvine - the fact that this is on a college campus is a recipe for an interesting atmosphere. Live music and other events are held here often.

Noble Ale Works is a microbrewery located right next to Angels Stadium. The tasting room is bedecked with Anaheim Angels paraphernalia, from banners to signed jerseys. Aside from this and their TV (to watch Angels games, of course), the decor is spartan, all the better to not distract from the main attraction, the beer. At the tasting room, you can sample 12 beers on tap, most of them their special seasonal beers, although of course regular year-round beers are available too. Beers on tap rotate often, so multiple trips can result in completely different experiences every time. Aside from regular open hours, the tasting room is also open before, during and after any Angels or Ducks home games.
This saloon has established itself as one of the most popular watering holes in Orange County with plenty of beer, music and friendly faces to talk to. If you are squeamish about huge sea animals that have paid a trip to the friendly neighborhood taxidermist, you might not like all the stuffed sharks adorning the walls. However, it adds a touch of the nautical to this Balboa Island bar.
Cassidy's Bar & Grill is well known for having one of the best burgers in Newport Beach, "The Cassidy's Cheeseburger," as well as a great tri tip sandwich. Food and beverage-wise, they have everything you want after a long day at the beach. Their burgers, drinks, music, and games (including pool table) will keep you entertained till 2am every night of the week.
The Anaheim Brewery's tasting room features a 30-foot long bar salvaged from a defunct local saloon where the barkeeps serve eight of the brewery's beers on tap. From the flagship Anaheim 1888 to their oatmeal stout and Dopplebock, each brew has it's own character. And with views that overlook Farmer's Park, the ambience is downright perfect in their 100-seat beer garden. If you come on Tuesday night, be prepared for plenty of tacos, they accompany the beers perfectly and Wednesday night features trivia time with 'Geeks Who Drink'.
Slater's 50/50 prides itself on its handmade burgers which consist of a mixture of two types of meat. For instance, the Original 50/50 is a mouthwatering mix of bacon and beef while the Pizza Burger is a blend of beef and Italian sausage. The designed burger menu presents an innovative take on the American classic as well, with items like the Bison & Bacon, Beer Cheese Chili Burger and the California Burrito Burger, everyone can find something to suit their tastes. The sides menu is just as decadent; try the Fried Bacon Mac N' Cheese Balls or Slater's Fries with homemade Bacon Ketchup. Despite all of the artery clogging selections, Slater's still has plenty of healthy options, from salads to veggie burgers. Check out the Crispy Brussels Sprouts in a mustard and white balsamic vinaigrette, sure they still have bacon bits, but the pork makes the crispy leafy green vegetable explode with flavor.
Slater's 50/50 - Anaheim Hills is famous for their build your own giant burger and amazing beer selection. Hidden in a strip mall, this restaurant is the home ground of the '50/50 patty' a burger made up of ground beef and ground bacon in equal parts. That is just a teaser of the epicurean delights that are in the offing, such as Slater’s Vampire Dip, Beer cheese fries, sweet potato fries with pumpkin sauce, Mac n' Cheese, Irish quesadilla and more. The Bruery operates from the heart of Placentia, offering locally made craft beer that plays with the conventions of Belgian brewing. Started by brothers Patrick and Michael Rue, Bruery is the end result of a passion for home brewing and a love of experimentation. Several exotic ingredients form the basis for these innovative brews, fresh picked lavender and Thai basil making appearances in otherwise conventional ales. To further this quality, Bruery ensures that its brews are never filtered or pasteurize, retaining every ounce of their original character. The Bruery's unique flavors and passionate ethos make it a worthwhile stop during tasting hours.
Bootlegger's Brewery is one of Orange County's premiere small artisan breweries, using a small batch process to brew their beers which leads to incredible creativity in the beermaking process and, of course, final product. The Bootlegger's tasting room allows beer lovers to taste most, if not all, their craft brews either on tap by the half pint or pint or you can pick up bottled beers, growlers and kegs to go. The brewery has five beers available year round: their hefeweisen, pale ale, IPA, "Black Phoenix" chipotle coffee stout and "Golden Chaos" Belgian-style golden ale. In addition to these regular beers, there are an additional 13 seasonal and limited release beers available throughout the year, ranging from mint chocolate porter and pumpkin ale to browns, double IPAs and more.
