The celebrated Scripps College is a liberal arts college for women. It was established and opened in 1926. The college site is located in the Claremont city in California. It is presently a member of the Claremont Colleges. The private college is swanked by a proficient faculty of researchers, learned and skilled individuals who strive towards the academic excellence of students. It organizes varied events through the working of its students clubs and also trains them for athletics. The school site remains listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Situated just north of Claremont University, California Botanic Garden is a conservatory dedicated to native Californian plants. This 86-acre (35-hectare) green oasis is home to more than 6,000 varieties of native species, some of which include exotic seasonal ones like the Manzanita, Dutchman’s Pipe, Catalina Crossosoma and many more. A stroll through this beautiful garden allows visitors to see squirrels, red-tailed hawks, butterflies and other avian life. The garden is open throughout the year, however, the best time to visit is in the spring of course, when the plants are in full bloom.
This gigantic outlet mega-mall opened in 1996 to enormous success, where it combines retail and restaurant space for Inland Empire residents. The list of stores is quite impressive, here you'll find shoe stores, women and men's clothing, housewares, gifts, the list goes on-and-on. One of the main attractions here is the massive selection of movies available at AMC 30 Theatres, a comedy club as well as a plethora of restaurant like Blaze Pizza, Rainforest Cafe and Market Broiler, to name a few. Although it is a little far from Los Angeles, if you find yourself in the Inland Empire, it's a nice spot to visit.
The Rubel Castle also known as Rubelia is a structure made from recycled materials. It was built by Michael Rubel and its friends in 1986. They used all the junk mixed with concrete and have brought up the structure. One can literally see the castle walls built out of liquor bottles and concrete. It is one of the best examples of the art of recycling. It has become one of the major highlight of Glendora. A trip to the castle will surely be a memorable experience. Tours are available only on reservations.
Take a trip down Victoria Avenue that is known for the beautiful trees lining either side of the road. The palm, pepper and eucalyptus are sure to make this a pleasurable ride as one traverses through the country. The road is a popular spot for biking.
