This club started in 1925, upon the grounds of what was the former ranch of a Spaniard named Don Antonio Maria Lugo, who himself obtained the lands in 1841. The club provides two golf courses, the North and South. Each one is quite difficult and the south course is the longest one in California, at 7587-yards. Needless to say the latter can be quite challenging to even the most seasoned golfer. However, in order to improve your handicap, the golf pros offer lessons and clinics; check with the pro shop.
Mountain Meadows Golf Course is a championship 18-hole course located in North Pomona. Players will certainly find this course a challenging one, with undulating hills and sand traps galore, making par is anything but easy. Needless to say, the course is not recommended for beginners. Oak Quarry Golf Club is a gem of a golf course that allows players to swing behind the backdrop of the Jurupa Hills. The course is an 18-hole championship one that is well-maintained and challenging for the novice player. The hurdles on this course, in terms of sand bunkers, rivers and trees, are not that predictable. Moreover, this golf club has a 7200-sq. ft. clubhouse, where numerous events like weddings, meetings and more are hosted throughout the year.
Located in Fontana, the Sierra Lakes Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 course with a total range of 6805 yards. From the first tee shot to the last dog leg at 18, every stroke can be challenging. Additionally, the pro shop has everything you could need for a day out, here the friendly staff provides rentals, shoes, tees, balls and other miscellaneous golf supplies. One of the best specials at Sierra is their nine hole and Prime Rib dinner combo, where you can get a delectable dinner after your round for a great price.
