The cornerstone of downtown's dining and shopping scene, Water Street market has something for everyone. If you are hungry there's the Water Street Seafood Company, the Water Street Oyster Bar and at the Executive Surf Club you can tap into more than thirty different beers. When you're done eating and drinking, explore the history of surfing in the state at the Texas Surf Museum located in the back of Surf Club Records. There are plenty of other shops to browse through and a few benches if you just need a break from all the eating and shopping.
Lamar Park is a shopping center which allows its visitors the best of both worlds when it comes to shopping. In between well-known stores such as Ann Taylor Loft, Talbots, Chico's and Joseph A. Bank, guests will also find local shops such as MARKET, Four Chicks in the Park, Goosefeathers and Mosaic as well as a few others. It's a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon (summers can be quite wet in south Texas) or a nice respite away from the usual beach scene.
