One of the city's major landmarks, St. John's Cathedral is considered to be one of the engineering marvels of its time. The church is built in the Gothic Revival style of architecture, and is constructed entirely out of cut stone. Like many other Gothic structures, the edifice of the church contains several intricate carvings of angles, religious symbols and gargoyles. Stained glass windows, a single aisle and arched ceilings make up the interior of the church.

Celebrate childhood by heading to the Red Wagon. Located in Riverfront Park, the Red Wagon is a large interactive sculpture that is 12 feet high and 27 feet long. This stunning natural attraction can be viewed from several vantage points in the city center, such is its beauty. Hop on to a bike and ride along the Centennial Trail to see the falls, or wander along Riverfront Park's inner network to avail some of the best views. You can also catch closer views from the stairs that encircle the falls in Huntington Park. For a more unique experience, the Spokane Falls SkyRide takes you on an exhilarating journey high above the falls, from where you can encounter its rumbling melody. Better yet, Anthony's at Spokane Falls allows you to dine with a view of the iconic falls. The best time to catch the waterfall in action is springtime, when it is in its finest element, spraying visitors with misty waters and entertaining one and all with its spectacular thundering.
Monroe Street Bridge is an historic arch bridge connecting the two banks of the Spokane River. Built in the early 20th century, this concrete bridge is most notable for its old-school appearance and central arch. The structure of the bridge also contains a number of intricate carvings, including bison skulls and other motifs. Stretching 896 feet (273 meters) across the river gorge, this was once the longest arch bridge in the state.
One of the oldest Catholic churches in the city, Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes continues to serve the community through various events and social gatherings. Built in Italian Romanesque Revival style of architecture, the church is most notable for its red brick edifice, marble altar and two towers. Inside, it is a site of serenity, with its stained-glass windows, arched roof, and lengthy aisle evoking a medieval atmosphere.
Gonzaga University is not just an important educational center, but also one of the city's most prominent landmarks. Its vintage, colonial architecture and vast campus makes it stand out amonsgt the backdrop of typical suburban houses. Notable for both, its academics and extra-curriculars, this university boasts a plethora prominent alumni, across various professions. Apart from educational workshops; a number of shows, plays and sporting events are held within the university.
Enjoy a glimpse of the Florentine style of architecture while enjoying some great wine from the Arbor Crest Winery at the Riblet Mansion. Dating back to 1925, the mansion was initially home to Royal Riblet, but is now the headquarters of the Arbor Crest Winery. Visitors can indulge in wine tastings, explore the mansion or even book the expansive grounds for private celebrations.
