Palladium is a huge entertainment venue built in the 1920's with an intent to promote art and culture in the city. It features a concert hall and a salon which is used as a theater and dance venue. The historic concert hall has played host to a variety of performances throughout its history, from Laurel & Hardy to the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. In operation since August 2015, Malmö Live is the home of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. Set in a modern, dynamic space covering an area of 43,000 square meters (462848.15 square feet), the event center and entertainment venue comprises of two concert halls as well as a conference room. Victoriateatern dates back to 1912, when it was established as a cinema house. Not only is it the oldest functioning cinema of the city, over the years, Victoriateatern has evolved into one of the premier movie theater-cum-concert venues of Malmo. Malmo Opera is rated among the premier music venues of the country which hosts some of the finest performances by local and touring ensembles. Constructed in 1944, the opera house features an enclosed amphitheater with a splendid foyer adorned in artwork by the likes of Isaac Grünewald and Carl Milles, while a fountain by Nils Sjögren greets audiences by the door. Equipped with an advanced acoustic and modern lighting system, it ensures the musical ensemble and the actors, both get the attention that they deserve. This huge theater has a seating capacity of 1,500, marking it as one of Scandinavia's largest. Built in 1901, Moriska Paviljongen is a historic structure in Folkets Park. Its Moorish architecture was one of its kind in the nation when it was erected and it still is a sight to behold. But besides its architecture, it is also one of the most popular cultural spots in the city. Comprising of a main hall, hall of mirrors, foyer, outdoor garden and a bistro, their Middle Eastern inspired spaces are used for a variety of events. The historic pavilion also hosts concerts, theater, children's acts and more. It is most for its entertaining programs showcasing the culture of North Africa, the Balkans and the Middle East. These are mainly musical events by well-known artistes from these regions.
