In existence from the mid 19th Century, the Bible Society of India's stone building was built many years ago and still stands witness to the evolving phases of Bengaluru city. It has even seen the time when the royal British entourage including the Queen herself visited this place. Bibles in different languages, especially India's southern languages were published by the Bible Society. In fact, the Bible was published for the first time in the Kannada language, just a few years after the society's establishment in Bengaluru. Different volumes of the Bible are available at the Karnataka Auxiliary, which is adjacent to the Bible Society's building on Mahatma Gandhi Road. The building is monumental and has an interesting history. This is a must visit when on M. G. Road.
