Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park

Since 1953, Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park has been providing picnickers, kayakers, and other recreation seekers a wonderful place to spend their time. Tallahassee Automobile Museum is a place to be if you are in the city. Heaven for automobile lovers the museum holds a special place in the history of America in the automobile sector. The museum displays more than 160 automobiles displays it also exhibits die-cast toy cars, Steinway grand pianos, boating items that are antique, golf memorabilia, pedal cars, Hit and Miss motors and many more. Cascades Park

Florida State Capitol

The Florida State Capitol is an iconic architectural landmark that is steeped in history. Originally built in 1845, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The classical dome was added in 1902, and the building underwent several other subsequent expansions. The capitol was almost torn down to make room for a new one in the 1970s, but was saved through citizens actions. Today, on display in the capitol are well-preserved photographs, audio clips, recordings and visual exhibits on the same and the building functions as the Florida Historic Capitol Museum.

Goodwood Museum & Gardens

The Goodwood Plantation is a historic house located in Tallahassee, Florida. Previously a cotton plantation, the estate includes the two story Georgian style mansion, now used as a museum housing family artifacts of the former owners and the adjoining gardens and grounds. The museum and grounds are open for tours for the general public and can also be rented for weddings and other private events.

Knott House Museum

The Knott House Museum was built in the year 1843 and served as a residence for prominent people as well as a headquarters for the Union Army during the Civil War. The house is believed to be built by African American builder George Proctor, and it is on the footsteps of this house where the proclamation for freedom for the enslaved was announced in 1865. Today, the house is under the administration of Museum of Florida History and houses collections of poems and belongings of the house's most beloved resident Luella Knott. Most of the poems are based on the furnishings of the house and thus, it is labeled 'The House That Rhymes'.
