Often referred to as Michigan's Little Bavaria, Frankenmuth is a city defined by Bavarian nuances and architectural elements which are an ode to the province it was named for. Settled in the 19th Century by Franconian Lutherans, the city features a cultural and historical landscape woven with churches and museums which offer a glimpse at its history. Several outdoor attractions also abound, among which the picturesque Heritage Park is perhaps the most significant. A vast repository of events and festivals is further testament to Frankenmuth's Bavarian heritage, illustrating its customs and traditions. The city is also home to the World's Largest Christmas Store, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland.


Frankenmuth Historical Museum

Opened in 1973, Frankenmuth Historical Museum is located on the banks of Cass River. It is set in an old hotel that was built in the early-20th Century. This immersive museum gives us a peek into the history and development of the city of Frankenmuth. It showcases several old photographs, documents, tools, clothing and more. Located adjacent to the museum is the late-19th century Fischer Hall. This hall is used to host events and parties.

Michigan Heroes Museum

Established in 1987, Michigan Heroes Museum shares the history of the state’s war heroes. It also pays tribute to the state’s astronauts who dedicated their lives to NASA’s programs. The museum showcases hundreds of exhibits, including pictures, medals, uniforms, tools, documents, and many other personal items that belonged to these heroes. Just outside the museum, you will find several war memorials and exhibits like weapons, military tanks, and fighter aircraft. Bavarian Inn Lodge is located in Frankenmuth, Michigan. It features an indoor waterpark, 18-hole miniature golf and Family Fun Center with over 150 arcade games. The bar in the Ratskeller has a wide variety of craft beers Bronners Christmas Wonderland is a 13-minute walk from this hotel in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Frankenmuth Historical Museum is a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Michigan’s Own Military and Space Museum is a 12-minute walk away.
