This landmark theater is located within a spacious and elegant late-Georgian building on St Ann's Square. There is also a studio theater that holds workshops and features works by new playwrights, while the main theater continues to show thought-provoking modern and classic plays. Palace Theatre

Affectionately known as the Grand Old Lady of Oxford Street, the Palace Theater is an imposing 1955 capacity Victorian theater that originally opened its doors to the public in July 1891. It lends itself to larger productions of touring plays, opera, ballet and popular musicals such as Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Inside, the auditorium is decorated in the classical style, with lots of gilded features and plush deep red velvet upholstery. There are two steep-sided upper tiers, stalls and several ornate boxes, giving the whole place a feeling of good old-fashioned grand opulence.

The Opera House

The Opera House is a grand old 2000-capacity theater, which was first opened on Boxing Day 1912. It has played host to many of the biggest stars of British theater, including Noel Coward, Ivor Novello and Ralph Richardson, throughout the intervening decades. The lavish, opulent decor in rich reds and golds still evoke the atmosphere of that classic, bygone age. Although the Opera House was closed due to financial constraints in 1979, it was resurrected and re-opened in 1986, and has become the successful home of modern West End musicals, operas, plays and other large-scale shows.

The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre

October 6, 1932 marked the addition of another fragment to the entertainment scene, and that's The Plaza Stockport. It started off as a movie theater showing silent films and, later, the talkies too. Live performances by bands and solo artists, well-choreographed plays and musicals is the USP of this place. Today, this theater is well-equipped with advanced technology, which is a much needed ingredient in every performance. One has to drop by and enjoy the entertaining theatrical experience.
