El Emergente Bar

This comfortable, atmospheric bar offers live music, poetry, films and much more. El Emergente Bar is open daily from 9p and is a perfect venue to spend an humdinger night with pals.

Gallo 333, Buenos Aires, Argentina, C1172
Ferona Social Club

You'd never know it was there, but one of the coolest new Palermo Hollywood bars is situated on the corner of Juan B Justo and Paraguay streets in an old 3-story house. Ring the doorbell and be greeted by one of the owners, where you will walk up the steep stairway to a hipster haven, a house party-like atmosphere filled with comfortable vintage couches and chairs for lounging. One more flight of stairs will lead you to the party room, loud music blaring, a kitchen converted into a bar flowing with high-end cocktails and a wrap around outdoor terrace. Once known as a secret spot, now Ferona is open every night of the week. Call for the exact address. - Alexandra Lazar

Jobs

Jobs is huge. It is a place mostly for people between 25 to 35 years old. It is close to two big Universities so for the last 10 years it is famous for its sophisticated environment. Jobs has 3 levels, and 4 bars. It has 24 pool tables in very good shape. You can also play darts with friends too. Remember to check their web page before going since they always have great discounts available. They have a dance area but it is kind of small. If you want to meet interesting people this is definitely a place where you should go. Don't forget to bring your cell phone, you might get lost! -Ignacio Casais

Arenales 2932, Buenos Aires, Argentina, C1425
Elebar

Elebar looks hip just from the outside. Once you get in, you will be able to confirm that it is, in fact, a very hip place. You can snack on tapas in the afternoon, bread and cheese plates, or if you are looking for something more substancial, try their beef and potatoes or salmon and quinoa. You can also enjoy their full bar and relaxed atmosphere, both outside and inside. They also have a happy hour that is perfect for a relaxing time out with some friends. - Rease Kirchner

Nicaragua 5001, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1425
Niceto Club

Located in the very fancy Palermo, this club is the place for a fun night out in Buenos Aires. There is everything you could imagine here—electrifying music, premium drinks and an energetic hip crowd. A haven of party goers, this haunt gets full on event nights. The night gets started with bands like Los Alamos and the French Kid Loco performing here. The mood gets livelier with the in-house DJs spinning the latest beats!

5510 Avenida Coronel Niceto Vega, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1414
Godoy

Godoy is a bar that proves that looks are deceiving. This bar is located a little too close to Juan B. Justo (just one block away) which can be an unpleasant area once the sun goes down. The bar also appears to be quite small when you are looking at it straight on, as if it is only a tiny corner bar. However, it stretches far back and is actually quite huge. Despite the location and outside appearance, Godoy is actually a large, fairly classy bar, restaurant and club. You can even rent the place out for private parties. This is a great place to go with a big group as there is plenty of space to dance, sit, or just mingle. - Rease Kirchner

Paraguay 4905, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1425
Lateral

Lateral is a very relaxed sports bar/pub that always seems to be happening. While it does not have the American pub feel, it does serve food and alcoholic beverages and the kitchen stays open late. During the day, you will see a few people having a leisurely meal or just sipping on a drink with some friends. At night, the bar gets a lot busier. The music never gets too loud, but the tables get crowded with friends having lively conversations. The outdoor seating area seems to be an especially popular place to hang out. All day and all night, the patio tables are full thanks to the extra toasty heaters. - Rease Kirchner

Republica de la India y Cabello, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1425
La Esperanza de los Ascurra

La Esperanza de los Ascurra offers an idyllic setting to spend a breezy evening, in the heart of Villa Crespo. Stop in at this elegantly-designed Spanish eatery to gulp down chilled beer and savor tapas fare in a relaxed setting. Menu features delights like zesty cañitas, burrata, crunchy tortillas and delicious cured meats. While Thursdays feature a ladies night, La Esperanza also lures drinkers with daily happy hours. The friendly, efficient waiters create an inviting atmosphere, ideal for a memorable family meal over the weekend.

1818 Fitz Roy, Buenos Aires, Argentina, C1414CIB
Geno Bar

Geno Bar is a small but active bar in Palermo. It is located on the corner of Guatemala and Fitz Roy. Although inside has close quarters, the bar keeps it happening with nice lightening, classy decor and a fun atmosphere. This is also a nice place to meet up with friends to start the night. Furthermore, since it is near a lot of offices, it is a good location for an after-office drink. It can get crowded later at night, so go early and move on to another bar later. - Rease Kirchner

Guatemala 5499, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1425
Hard Rock Café

Belonging to the international chain of the same name, the Hard Rock is decorated with elements related to the history of rock. Video screens show music events, and the gift shop hawks souvenirs with their characteristic trademark. One of the busiest establishments in Recoleta, its clientele is mainly young people in their mid to late twenties, and local bands often perform live. The menu is completely American, and includes an executive menu at a fixed price during the week - the most significant item being the selection of cheeses and cold meats. A beer costs ARA6.

Avenida Pueyrredón y Libertador, Buenos Aires Design, Buenos Aires, Argentina, C1119
Almodobar

Almodobar is closed until 8p Monday through Saturday, so it has the look of being a bit deserted. However, once it gets dark, Almodobar starts to fill up. This bar and restaurant offers food, drinks and even dancing. There are three floors in Almodobar, each dedicated to one of the three activities. The lighting is kept low with colorful lights to keep things interested. This is a great place for any point of the evening - dinner, early drinks, or late night dancing. The comfy lounge style bar allows you to socialize over drinks while the dance floor is all about movement. Check it out any day but Sunday. - Rease Kirchner

Bonpland 1905, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1425
Bar Plaza Dorrego

In a traditional corner of Buenos Aires, with a rich colonial past, Bar Plaza Dorrego boasts of a melting pot clientele of visitors from all over the world. It was the first bar in Buenos Aires, established in 1881. In its hey days the bar decoration was considered sumptuous. Today, this busy spot has lost some of its former splendor but it still manages to keep the charm and simplicity of the old days. Pictures of celebrities such as Borges and Gardel, who used to stop by, are hanging on its walls. Like in most bars in Buenos Aires, you have a menu with a good selection of alcoholic beverages and coffees. The beer comes with a side of roasted peanuts and the coffee with shortbread cookies. Before leaving, you may carve your name for posterity in one of the wooden panels.
