Joe Champs is Cologne's best known sports bar. With a big screen and many smaller screens often showing a several different events at once, American food, and plenty of shouting and cheering, this is a fun place to go and watch a game. Those who aren't into sports will still enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, down to the wooden tables, red and white checked tablecloths, and busy but exceedingly friendly service. The drinks aren't especially cheap, but if you're going to sit there for two hours it's not a bad deal. The convenient location on the ring, at Rudolfplatz, means that it's usually pretty full.
Cologne has no shortage of great burger places, and yet Beef Brother in the Belgian Quarter, comes second to none. The nifty little joint is a local favorite even with it's limited dining area and no-frills ambiance. Offering a huge variety of burgers, the eatery is popular for its use of fresh ingredients and classic recipes. Drop in to relish their signature BBQ burger, Don Vito and the classic hamburger. To go with these drool-worthy, juicy burgers are a range of refreshing beers and wines to choose from. The only downer at this place is that they don't accept cards, so hit the ATM before arriving here.
