This small, well-decorated and low-key bar is a far cry from some of the trashier gay venues in Leeds. It gets busy in the evening and at weekends (especially on Sunday afternoons) but it's a nice place to go and read the newspaper in the daytime. Drinks are pretty cheap and there are regular special offers that are well worth looking out for.
One of the longest-running gay pubs in Leeds, the New Penny is a friendly place where everybody is welcome. In the daytime, it seems like a pretty normal Yorkshire pub, but at night all that changes. The oldest gay bar in the UK, most nights there is something fun going on, whether it be theme nights or popular DJs.
