By day, students type furiously on their laptops, taking advantage of the free WiFi that Moyo provides for free until 7:30p. But by night, the bartenders crank up the music and mix hundreds of cocktails for an energetic young crowd. Bar-goers spill out onto the street during the weekends, clutching Moyo's signature cocktail, a cranberry martini with lemon juice and triple sec. Thursday nights have a hip-hop theme, while on Friday and Saturday a DJ spins the latest remixes.

Since the early 1970s, this bar has kept one unchanging feature: the nearly exclusively young customers who go there. It is the perfect place for any time of day and it caters for all tastes and all budgets. You can spend an evening with your friends here in a chaotic but friendly atmosphere. The place's informality is accentuated by its modern look, long opening hours and flexible menu. They serve homemade tagliolini or spaghetti with prawns, Gorgonzola or asparagus. When you enter Caffè Gilli, it is worthwhile to ponder over the fact that you are surrounded by a two hundred year old legacy and all of it is still preserved. The recipes used to make the delicious coffees and unique confectioneries have hardly changed, but they have only adapted to the modern scenario over time. The cafe has a Victorian charm with wooden flooring and Murano glass chandeliers that define its interior. A look at the display section will leave you mesmerized as the assortment of desserts will spoil you with choices. From creamy pastries, Tiramisu, cakes to pies and more, everything here will make your palate sing.

Zoe is a hip bar located in the Oltrarno, a popular meeting point for 20 to 30-somethings, who linger outside drinking and talking until the wee hours of the morning. They serve breakfast and lunch, but it's most crowded during the early evening and late night. From 6p to 10p a large aperitif is served indoors and outdoors. Their food bar includes a large choice of cocktails, appetizers, finger foods and snacks. In summer, Wednesday evening is "Frozen Night" featuring all kinds of iced drinks and aperitifs cocktails - perfect on a warm Tuscan night. The bar also frequently hosts art and photo exhibitions, displayed on the walls.

Caffé degli Artigiani is set in the quaint Italian square, Piazza della Passera, directly across from one of Florence's most popular restaurants. This cozy café is tiny on the inside with just enough room for the bar, pastry case and restroom. Grab your drink and head outside to the little white tables set along the alleyway. Choose from their various selections of wine and champagne, which will make you feel classy and cozy on a warm, summer evening. Do book ahead for larger groups as the bar tends to get quite crowded later in the evening.

Samba, bossa nova, salsa - you name it, this hugely-popular Cuban dance palace plays it. Light snacks and exotic cocktails are served in a colorful beach club-style décor, while the spacious dance floor gives clubbers plenty of room to get into those Latin rhythms. Live music is featured nightly and dancing tuition given in the early evening Wednesdays are all you need to get into the party mood. You can eat, drink, dance and while away the hours in a colorful Cuban cabana!

After years of closure, this once legendary cinema is enjoying something of a Renaissance as an enormous bar, restaurant and entertainment complex. People come here for a relaxing drink after work and then go on for something to eat in the restaurant, (which offers anything from pizza to gourmet and international cuisine), rounding off the evening with live cabaret, fashion shows or concerts. They have a huge private car park, accessible from Via della Fonderia (situated between Via dell'Anconella and Via Felice Cavallotti).
