The Riverwalk is a great way to see the city of Jupiter while on a bike or on foot. Start from either the Jupiter Inlet or Ocean Way and you will see points of interest around every meandering corner. Some of the sites include the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, Burt Reynolds Park, the Loxahatchee River Center and other natural charms like the Mangrove Bay, Jupiter Ridge and the intracoastal waterway itself. Needless to say, a sunrise will welcome your morning jog, a cool breeze will join your afternoon walk and the charming sunset will enhance a romantic after-dinner stroll.
If you are a hard core biker or skater, then you will have a blast at Skate Park, located inside the South Jupiter Community Center.This park is built exclusively for your skating or biking pleasure. At the park, there are different timings for bikers, skateboarders and also for kids aged 6 to 10. There are also roller hockey rinks at the park that are available only for playing hockey and cannot be used for skateboarding or biking. Surrounded by a thick foliage, all you are with the greenery that the Indian Creek Park has to offer. If it's not the peace and beauty of nature that you are looking for then there is a jogging trail for those who want to keep fit and sound or just occupied. And for the sport fanatic, there is a basketball court where you can sweat your worries out. So when in need for some out-door fun time, be sure to visit the Indian Creek Park. It's opened from dusk till dawn.
Spend a day at Sawfish Bay Park and enjoy various recreational options which include kayaking, canoeing, fishing or strolling along the boardwalk waterway which overlooks the Loxahatchee River. Covering an area of 2.5 acres, the park has two fishing stations as well as places to launch your canoe or kayak. The park also offers a picnic areas, pavilions, water fountains and other amenities which make it easy for you to just sit back and relax. Additionally, Sawfish Bay Park does not allow animals and there are no restroom facilities on the premises.
This multi-purpose park is a great place to get away from the bustle of downtown Jupiter. With acres of pristine sand, sport fields and courts, picnic areas and mini-stages like the Seabreeze Amphitheater, this park has enough to keep you busy all day long. Other amenities include bocce ball courts, picnic pavillions, hiking trails, the Lazy Loggerhead Cafe and the best part is that it's all situated upon acres of beach.
The Maltz Jupiter Theater is a 600-seat theater that hosts local acts as well as national and international stars. The seasonal lineup varies from Broadway productions to summer theater, some of the musicals have included Billy Elliott, Kiss Me Kate and the Will Rogers Follies. The theater also has a conservatory which provides classes and workshops to the community.
Captain Sl8r provides dive charters for anyone who wishes to see the underwater marvels in the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the dive sites have names like 'Monkey's Ledge', 'Captain Kurls', 'Area 51' and 'Scarface'. At Monkey's Ledge, divers can see sharks, eels and sting-rays at Area 51 and Scarface presents the famous Green Moray Eel. Their 'Kyalami' dive/cruise is one of their most popular and if you choose to go out and venture yourself on your own charter, the Captain provides tank rentals as well.
Manatee Queen offers daily tours of the Intracoastal Waterway and provides guests with the opportunity to see some of Florida's natural wonders in addition to all of the million-dollar homes that line the water. As a combined wildlife hospital and educational center, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary offers Floridians and tourists the opportunity to view native wildlife in a natural environment. The non-profit center was established in 1983 to acknowledge the diversity of Florida's natural resources. Bring the whole family to participate in tours and programs for a once in a lifetime experience. There is no admission fee, however donations are greatly appreciated.
Roger Dean Stadium is the only stadium in the U.S. that houses four minor-league baseball teams as well as two MLB teams during the spring. Here, the state-of-the-art facilities and the Florida weather allow for 'America's Pastime' to be played all-year around. It's the spring training home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins and it can hold about 7,000 fans.
Jupiter's beautiful DuBois Park is a good place for the nature lover to spend the day. Its abundance of sideways-walking hermit crabs will thrill any child, and the water in the lagoon is so shallow you could bring a chair and literally sit inside it. The beach area is small, but it is guarded during the winter and on weekends. The DuBois Pioneer Home and the Indian Mound archaeological site are also located on this property as well.
Downtown Abacoa or more colloquially, Abacoa Town Center, is the entertainment hub of the area. This revitalized zone brims with cultural activities such as the yearly Fiesta Maya and many more. Harbourside Place is the quintessential shopping district located off the banks of the Loxahatchee River. This maritime relic designed and built by George Gordon Meade in 1860 is one of the oldest lighthouses in Florida as well as holding the title as the oldest existing structure in Palm Beach County. It was only illuminated for a couple of years before the confederate army extinguished its light during the Civil War, but when the war was over, it was re-lit and has been guiding ships along the shore to this day. Bring your camera to capture the 156-foot red beauty, standing tall on the Jupiter coast.
The Jupiter Outdoor Center offers everything outdoor-related: adventure tours, kayak rental and stand-up paddleboarding to name a few activities. Not only can you rent watergear, but some of the sights that can be visited is a veritable tourist guide to Jupiter Inlet, as the Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve, the Jupiter Lighthouse and Sawfish Bay are right nearby. Some of the other activities include snorkeling, fishing and kids' summer camps.
