Metro Theatre

One of Sydney's most famous and popular independent rock venues, Metro Theater has witnessed some of the greatest rock shows ever and is a hub of flurry activities round the year. This place is also home to many a local acts and provides a well-deserved spearhead for artists vying to break into the rock scene. Apart from rock concerts, MTV's The Lair is one such show that is held here weekly. The Metro is also available for hire.

State Theatre

The marvelous State Theatre is located in Sydney's central business district. Within it, hangs one of the worlds largest crystal chandeliers. Classified by the National Trust of Australia as a building of historical significance, the theater was lavishly redone in the early 1980s. Its main focus is performing arts and live entertainment. Sydney Opera House

Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace

Originally the North Shore Picture Palace, the Orpheum was fully restored to its former art-deco splendor in the 1990s. It houses a main cinema which seats 750, as well as five smaller cinemas. Films vary from main stream to art-house and there are sometimes live cabaret performances. A special feature is the original Wurlitzer Organ. It rises up onto the stage and the flamboyant organist entertains with several numbers.

Sydney Olympic Park was a spectacular sight at the onset of the new millennium when it hosted the Sydney 2000 Olympics. The Park still maintains a similar splendor in organizing interesting events. Qudos Bank Arena

Qudos Bank Arena, previously known as the Sydney Super Dome, is a cut above the rest and is a large, multi-purpose venue for staging indoor sporting events and entertainment extravaganzas. The sophisticated structure with distinctive architecture, designed by Philip Cox boasts column-free viewing with a full roof for protection, five levels of comfortably designed seating, and four centrally located high-resolution video screens. The arena is home to the basketball team, Sydney Kings while Sydney Flames, a WNBL team, also plays matches here. In addition to holding Supercross motorbike races, this arena has hosted several significant matches and championships of basketball, tennis, and gymnastics.
