One of Sydney's most famous and popular independent rock venues, Metro Theater has witnessed some of the greatest rock shows ever and is a hub of flurry activities round the year. This place is also home to many a local acts and provides a well-deserved spearhead for artists vying to break into the rock scene. The marvelous State Theatre is located in Sydney's central business district. Within it, hangs one of the worlds largest crystal chandeliers. Located only a stroll from Newtown, the family-run Enmore Theatre was built in 1908. Recently renovated, with a re-designed foyer and first floor bar and cafe, the auditorium offers 1,600 new, comfortable seats in both dress circle and stalls. A melting pot of cultural fare, performances vary from flamenco dancing and foreign spectaculars to cabaret, rock bands and mainstream musicals. They also have special shows for children. This stadium, also known as the Sydney Super Dome, is the first of its kind to be built in Australia, and a large, multi-purpose venue for staging indoor sport and entertainment extravaganzas. The sophisticated, Philip Cox designed building, boasts column-free viewing with a full roof for protection, five levels of comfortably designed seating and four centrally located high-resolution video screens. The arena is home of the Sydney Kings and Flames Basketball teams and also puts on Supercross motorbike races.
