Tivoli was founded in 1843, and its present concert hall was opened in 1956, after the earlier one burned down in 1944. The concert hall is the largest in Copenhagen, with seats for 1692 spectators, and therefore often attracts big foreign names within classical, rock, pop and jazz music and the entertainment genre.
