Centro Geodésico da América do Sul

The city of Cuiabá has a unique distinction of being at the center of South America, and this monument marks this geographical feature. The exact geodesic center, which today, stands at the Pascoal Moreira Cabral square was determined through research by Marechal Candido Rondon. Standing in front of the city's municipal office, the monument comprises a towering obelisk, that's easily visible from a distance.
