Manuel's Tavern

This traditional corner bar opened its doors in 1956 and has been a local favorite ever since. Known to be frequented by political stalwarts, blue-collar workers, and artists alike, Manuel's Tavern exudes a lively aura, maintaining its yesteryear charm. A family-owned bar, it features a row of barstools along the elaborate bar, where you can enjoy your favorite beer along with the latest game and some pub grub. You can also drop by for a weekend brunch and try their famous fish fry.

Blind Willie's

Back in 1986, musicians Eric King and Roger Gregory were on the lookout for a place to play with their band Shadows. This search led to the creation of Blind Willie's, today an iconic blues club in Virginia Highlands. Year after year, this rustic and inviting spot continues to be among the top blues venues in Atlanta. Notable legends Junior Wells, Lazy Lester and Johnny Clyde Copeland, and several emerging local acts have graced the stage here. A well-stocked bar is located in the rear, featuring an array of domestic beers and wines. The limited yet delectable menu on offer features Cajun specialties from New Orleans and authentic Chicago and Memphis fare.

The Porter Beer Bar

The Porter in Little Five Points is a small restaurant that does everything big. Burgers are served on over-sized plates heaped with garlic-and-cheese fries, and the beer selection is even more sizable. For extra style, each draft beer is served in its signature glass. The Porter doesn't rely on style alone: they emphasize quality beer paired with quality food. The restaurant looks small from the outside, but the long bar and back room with tables provides plenty of space for hungry (and thirsty) diners.

Joystick Gamebar

Affectionately known as a "barcade," Joystick Gamebar specializes in serving up great drinks alongside vintage video games. The bar is home to a number of old-school gaming machines, including Ms. Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Rampage World Tour, X-Men, Metal Slug, Terminator 2 Judgement Day, Operation Wolf, Lethal Enforcers, Big Guns, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Galaga, Street Fighter II, NBA Jam, Turtles in Time, and Centipede. Joystick is also home to what they call a "kitchen incubation" program where chefs and other restaurateurs are invited to work out of the bar's kitchen for a year or two, cooking and serving whatever they are most passionate about. The idea behind "kitchen incubation" is to provide aspiring local chefs and cooks with a chance to build up a menu and a reputation. So, though the menu changes frequently, all the food served at Joystick is delicious! This little spot has an intense local following and can get busy on certain nights of the week, but the overall fun atmosphere and delectable drinks more than make up for any wait.

Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium

The decor at Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium might be creative for some and blasphemous for others. The walls inside the bar are adorned by church-themed statues and photos and some quirky one-liners by the imaginary owner of this bar, Sister Louisa. It is the favorite hangout place for the youth in the neighborhood due to its intriguing ambiance, wide range of drinks, and regular events. Playing ping pong with your friends here after downing a few drinks is fun and definitely a must-try. Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium is the most fun church you will ever visit.

Red Phone Booth

The Red Phone Booth, located in downtown Atlanta, is a spectacular venue that guarantees its guests a distinctive party experience. This speakeasy from the Prohibition era is a fantastic place to relive the best of the 1920s. This luxury establishment, which specializes in handcrafted cocktails like Macallan Rare Cask, Reflexion, and No. 6, is also well recognized for selling a broad variety of cigars that are proudly sourced from different regions of the world. The mouthwatering selection of pub fare offered here includes pizzas made in the Neapolitan manner, seafood, carpaccio, and more. The Red Phone Booth is a stylish location for fun and a must-visit among the variety of party spots across the city.
