When Homeplugged was first established in 2009, no one could have imagined that this DIY house venue would change the face of indie music in Brussels, yet that is precisely what it has done. This concert venue is actually the home of Iacopo Curatolo, a passionate music lover who wanted nothing more than to set up a place where the city's music-starved could enjoy local and international indie bands live. On show nights, the living room is cleared out to make room for a 100 or so music fans and the band. The concerts are managed entirely by Iacopo and his friends, who have even pulled-off the organization of a music festival of their very own at Homeplugged. This humble venue remains a much-loved fixture of the city's indie scene, even as it slowly burgeons, attracting more and more international bands.
