The original structure of Smock Alley Theatre dates back to the 17th Century that operated till the 18th Century and was left unused later. This classic building was renovated in 2012 and starting functioning as a space for entertainment again. Though the venue exudes a medieval charm, it is equipped with modern lighting and acoustics that ensure a pleasant experience for audience. The theater property has rental spaces with different capacities that can be hired for small and large-scale events. Gaiety is one of the oldest theaters in Dublin and is popular for screening international films. A Victorian-era landmark with some of its original elements intact, this beautiful historic theater also features celebrity, bronze-cast handprints of theater stalwarts within its premises. Apart from showing new and old movies, Gaiety is also famously home to the Christmas pantomime, an annual performance that has been a tradition at the theater since 1874.

Trotz Konkurrenz ist das Abbey Irlands führendes Theater und spezialisiert auf Produktionen in den Hauptströmungen, ist aber dennoch ein wichtiger Förderer einheimischer Talente. Neue Stücke werden im Kellertheater 'The Peacock' aufgeführt.

Das 1928 von Hilton Edwards und Edward MacLiammoir gegründete Theater ist in einem Flügel der eindrucksvollen Rotunda untergebracht und führt hauptsächlich klassische irische und internationale Stücke im Programm. Das vielgelobte Beckett Festival spielte 1999 vor ausverkauftem Haus in London und New York.

Das schöne Auditorium wurde kürzlich renoviert und die gekrümmte Bar ist ideal, um vor oder nach der Vorführung noch einen Drink zu genießen. Tickets kosten von EUR 15 aufwärts, Ermäßigungen gibt es bei Vorabvorführungen.
