This is a long-established, upscale seafood restaurant with attractive maritime decor that's run by the Civera brothers. They specialize in lobster and crayfish paella. The open-plan kitchen allows you to watch the chefs preparing other house specialties like Galician style octopus (steamed with oil and paprika) and steamed fresh mussels. On a lovely summer day, you can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the atmosphere and the delicious cuisine.
Tucked away on a street that is dotted by many eateries and bars, Bar Pilar has been around since 1917. This local favorite is a popular tapas bar and has an old worldly charm to it with its wine barrels, vintage wooden accents and ceramic tiles. You will find traditional Valencian dishes here that are deliciously made. Take a sip of wine and enjoy the fare in this non-touristy spot.
This tapas bar is situated in the heart of the Canovas area. It is newly opened and offers expensive and specialized tapas. The typical dishes of the bar include wild boar stew and oxtail (only on Wednesday). They have a very good wine cellar with a wide selection of wine from all the different wine-making regions of Spain. When they close the kitchen at midnight on the weekends, they still continue to serve drinks. Decoratively, it is a very attractive bar. It is decorated in a rustic style, with visible brick orange walls. There are also bullfighters painted on one of the walls, with their costumes hanging over a bar.
