Linda's Tavern

Do not let the stuffed buffalo head or the other Wild West paraphernalia fool you. This ain't Texas. The atmosphere in this Capitol Hill neighborhood tavern is warm, casual, even trendy. DJs spin alternative records. Pitchers of microbrew flow freely, and the menu consists of Southern fare including Chicken Potpie, meatloaf and the beloved Chicken-Fried Steak. Despite the in-crowd feel, the people are inviting and friendly. You may have to wait in line to play pool on the one table. Also come for weekend brunch.

707 East Pine Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98122
Speckled & Drake

This laidback bar at the foot of Capitol Hill is just the cure you need for afterwork weariness. It has a dive bar-like ambiance, yet it isn't overly noisy or raucous, allowing you to unwind and chill with a friend or colleague. They do host sport event viewings on the weekends, and even have happy hour specials. Do try their beer and shot combos on your visit here.

1355 East Olive Way, Seattle, WA, USA, 98122
Comet Tavern

Comet Tavern has been around in the Pike/Pine area of Seattle as long as anyone can remember. It's known as a place for local bands to play, and it has always been an epicenter of Seattle's eclectic music activity. Add some pinball machines, a pool table and cheap beers, and you have the perfect dive bar. The creaky floorboards protesting at every step and very smoky interiors seems to be appropriate for those who take their nightlife seriously.

922 East Pike Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98122
Pony

Located in Central District, Pony is a LGBT dive bar which serves pints, and pitchers of strong pours and features a great year-round outdoor patio with a fire pit and retractable roof. This bar is certainly not for the meek or the under-aged, as the walls are splattered with explicit content. This divey-piece-of-goodness is equipped with a dance floor and the DJ plays great tunes while also letting you gulp down decently priced drinks.

1221 East Madison Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98122
The 5 Point Cafe

The 5 Point Cafe is a neighborhood dive bar and restaurant that offers sumptuous American comfort food, including roast beef sandwich, Cuban marinated pulled pork sandwich, burgers and homemade chili soup. This popular cafe is open day and night and is acclaimed as one of the best dive bars in the city due to its inexpensive prices and down-to-Earth atmosphere. The unpretentious decor has a few unusual twists, such as a moose head that's covered in bras or some risque Polaroids behind the bar. Make sure you check out the great deals during their Happy Hour.

415 Cedar Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98119
Twilight Exit

Twilight Exit is a dive bar on East Cherry Street which offers a range of zippy drinks and pub grub at pocket-friendly prices. If you are hungry you can try out their hearty American pub classics which are known for their massive proportions. Their Caesar salad, sandwiches and burgers are especially popular among diners. With a jukebox playing all your favorite tunes and a pinball machine to entertain you, this bar is a great hangout for friends.

2514 East Cherry Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98122
Mecca Cafe

The menu offers breakfast and lunch, but make no mistake about it, as the main attraction is the diner itself, a greasy place that serves as a Mecca for a group of regulars enjoying a night on the town. This cafe dates back to World War II, so it is no surprise that it has acquired a musty character over the years. You may not be able to make out your friends through the smoky air, but half the fun of coming is to try. Typical American pub grub is offered, heavier than usual with grease—burgers, fries, sandwiches and the like. Breakfast is available all day. There is a full bar and the beer selection is broad.

526 Queen Anne Avenue North, Seattle, WA, USA, 98109
Blue Moon

Founded in 1934, Blue Moon was once the den of popular media figures. Housed in the University district, the club is frequented by students who love to spend their evenings with some good music and fabulous drinks. The beer at the bar is particularly famous and the food is the usual pub grub. Every day the venue presents a line of local artists who entertain the crowd and lighten up the mood.

712 North East 45th Street, Seattle, WA, USA, 98105
Nine Pound Hammer

Nine Pound Hammer is a no-frills bar. What you get here are mean drinks and free peanuts. Hang out with your friends, unwind and play some pool or pinball. Nine Pound Hammer is the best place to go to after the working day is done. Dress as you please because the crowd here is always set to have a blast. There is outdoor seating if you prefer, but you can hear locals having a good time inside as well.

6009 Airport Way South, Seattle, WA, USA, 98108
Poggie Tavern

A absolutely no frills place, Poggie Tavern is a small pub and bar that lets you party without the irritating worry of dressing up. Inside, you will find some of the best live bands rocking the place with their music. Poggie Tavern only serves beer and wines, but they are plentiful and come in many varieties. For food their pizzas are scrumptious. There is also the lure of a very retro ambiance with florescent bulbs lighting the otherwise cozy place.

4717 California Avenue Southwest, Seattle, WA, USA, 98116
KIng's Hardware

This western themed bar is owned by Linda Derschang, the lady who owns Linda's and Chop Suey. It is named after a hardware store that was earlier in its place. The decor includes wagon wheel lamps, a saloon style bar and a black and white photo display. The customers can avail of a haircut along with their beer as the bar is connected to Rudy's barbershop. The pub has a lengthy cocktail list and assorted pub grub.
