This beautiful freshwater lake offers a nice oasis in the city. Bachman Lake is a man-made lake was originally to be Dallas' water source, but that idea was later rejected because the lake was too small. Today this lake is perfect for fishing and sailing. If you want to fully enjoy the scenery then take the 3.3 mile (5.3 kilometer) trail that surrounds the lake.
