Broussard's

Das 1834 gebaute Haus war früher als die Borello Mansion bekannt. 1920 eröffnete Joseph Broussard mit seiner Frau Rosalie Borello im Erdgeschoss dieser Villa ein kleines Restaurant. Seine Kocherfahrung aus Paris und sein Anspruch auf Perfektion bei jedem servierten Gericht haben dieses Lokal zu einem 5-Sterne-Restaurant gemacht. Heute steht es unter der Leitung von Gunter Preuss mit einem ebenso hohen Standard und genauso köstlichen Gerichten. Die subtile Eleganz und die majestätische Ausstattung erinnern an vergangene napoleonische Zeiten. Die Speisekarte bietet unter anderem kreolischen Klassikern wie Pompano Napoleais, gebackenen Filets oder rotem Fisch.

Brennan's

Die Geschichte des Gebäudes, welches heute als Brennan's Restaurant bekannt ist, geht bis in die späten 1700er Jahre zurück. Seine glänzende Vergangenheit war durch ständigen Besitzerwechsel und eine Serie von Bränden gekennzeichnet, bis die Gebrüder Brennan es 1984 erworben haben. Heute besteht das Haus aus zwölf elegant eingerichteten Speisezimmern mit einer Kapazität von bis zu 550 Gästen. Was einst die Sklavensiedlung einer Villa vor dem Bürgerkrieg war, ist heute ein preisgekrönter Weinkeller. Ein wunderschöner Innenhof mit Magnolienbäumen und malerischen Springbrunnen schafft die beste Atmosphäre für einen Speiseraum. Zum Abendessen werden die Tische zusätzlich mit romantischem Kerzenlicht erhellt. Von den Dinnergästen wird Abendgarderobe verlangt, außerdem ist es empfehlenswert einen Tisch zu reservieren. Das Frühstück kann mit einem sanften Aufwecker wie Brandy Milk Punch begonnen werden, gefolgt von einem der exquisiten Hauptgänge wie zum Beispiel Eggs Hussarde, ein Brennansches Originalrezept. Zum Abendessen gibt es ebenfalls ein breites Angebot. Als Abschluß jeder Mahlzeit kann man den berühmten Bananas Foster, einer weiteren Kreation der Brennan-Feinschmecker, empfehlen.

Compère Lapin

Located in The Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery, Compère Lapin brings the palatable taste of Caribbean cuisine to American shores. Situated within the charming French Quarter, Sylvain is a notable addition to the classic buildings adorned with captivating stories. The modest surroundings and the simple white frame building housing Elizabeth's can be quite deceptive and is no indication of the delicious food on the platter. It serves a hearty meal whether its breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. The praline bacon, Eggs Elizabeth and Redneck Eggs Benedict, which are poached eggs perched atop fried green tomatoes are to die for. All in all, an unpretentious eatery for casual dates and outings.
