The performing arts center at the Corpus Christi branch of Texas A&M University hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Mostly symphonies, choral groups and orchestras, but there are other events like musicals, workshops and talks as well. The modern venue was constructed in 2002 and the unique shape of the theater ensures that every seat is an intimate one.
At the South Texas Speedway, racing fans can say they attended an event at one of the Top 50 racetracks in the country. Some of the cars on the track include late-model, modified and stock models, each one with a powerful engine that deafens the ears. It's a family-friendly facility, where during intermission, little ones 12 and under can try their luck on the go-karts.
The Texas State Asian Cultures Museum promotes the culture and traditions of the world's largest continent; with art from nations such as India, China Sri Lanka, Laos, Japan, the artworks represent regions from the entire land mass including parts of Austronesia. On the second floor you will find the information center which educates visitors about Asian cultures through costumes, storytelling and crafts. The museum is conveniently located downtown and it host special events throughout the year.
One of the premier fairgrounds or events spaces in Nueces County, Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds plays host to many major events in the county. Conveniently located just off Highway 77, and just a few miles from the Nueces County Airport as well as the Corpus Christi International Airport, these fairgrounds have spaces that are equipped with excellent amenities and are ideal for big events. Among the facilities, guests will find the 4200-capacity Fairgrounds Field Baseball Stadium, the 3200-capacity Central Pavilion Arena, and the 1200-capacity Conference Center.
One of the main attractions in downtown Corpus Christi is its bustling marina. Here you will find sailboats docked in neat rows, snow cone vendors, restaurants and tour ship cruises. During the day you can walk down the piers and find local fisherman selling the day's catch. During the summer months, it becomess especially busy with families walking up and down the wooden piers and at night, it is particularly stunning when the marina is illuminated.
Part of the Insituto de Cultura Hispanica de Corpus Christi, this small museum aims to advance and promote the history of Hispanic culture and tradition in this part of Texas. There are exhibitions from all over the Spanish speaking world, from Spain to Colombia and everywhere in-between. The museum is a hidden jewel located in the larger Heritage Park complex. The Lichtenstein House, in which the museum is located, is a beautiful merchant's residence from 1905.
