The Cavern Club

Undoubtedly, one of the most famous clubs in the world, this was the birthplace of a revolution that changed the music world forever. It was from this club the 'Fab Four' rose to heights. The original club closed down in 1973 to make way for an underground rail link, moving to its present site in 1976. The Cavern Club has been witness to almost three hundred performances by The Beatles, and it was here that Sir Paul McCartney played his last gig of the 20th Century. In addition to the main club, the venue features the Cavern Live Lounge, a space for private parties and one-off performances, as well as the Cavern Pub, a relaxed watering hole with regular local live music. In addition, to live gigs, the club also caters to a number of tastes including retro, dance and party.

Alma de Cuba

Alma de Cuba is perhaps one of the most unique bar and restaurants you will ever come across. That's because this trendy Latin-American watering hole is set in what was once St Peter's Catholic Church. A lot of the original design of the church still stands, like the remains of the altar, Lady's chapel and religious paintings. The active calendar of events features everything from live gigs to launch parties throughout the year. Despite the dated setting, the space is often used for contemporary events and is host to a number of shows that can best be described as glamorous. Drinking and dining at a church takes a little bit of getting used to, but Alma de Cuba remains a superb venue for a fun night in town.

G Bar

Wildly popular in the city, G Bar has been rocking Liverpool's nightlife for more than a decade now. Three unique rooms, each with a unique character of their own make up the club. The cheeky Church Room, with a church themed decor is the main venue, while the aptly named Bassment serves hardcore dance enthusiasts. The WKD Love Lounge is ideal for a relaxed night. A popular gay nightlife hotspot in the city, G Bar also attracts a fair amount of straight clientele, especially for its rocking club nights. Most of the parties wind up in the wee hours including an otherwise unheard of 7a on Saturdays. Check website for more.

The Krazyhouse

Krazyhouse is one of Liverpool's most diverse nightclubs, offering three separate floors, each with its own DJ and a musical focus to please all tastes. The club opens just two nights a week, with Thursdays hosting Time, a wildly popular student night, while Saturdays see a mixed crowd of revelers for hardcore partying. Stiff drinks and the club's late hours ensure a rocking party all night long.

Leaf on Bold Street is one of the best hangouts you can think of in Liverpool. The exposed brick walls and well-lit interiors lend a rustic feel to the place, yet giving it a rather comfortable vibe. The tea selection at the Leaf is noteworthy and has enough to excite enthusiasts. Apart from this, it also serves breakfast and snacks throughout the day. A cafe during the day, the venue transforms into a hip and happening bar as evening sets in. Later into the night, it welcomes local and renowned DJs and bands to raise the decibel levels. A friendly place to chill out, the bar is also host to various cultural and art events.

Camp and Furnace

It is difficult to describe such an eclectic venue in just one word. Nestled in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle section, Camp and Furnace is an event space, gastropub, nightclub, exhibition space and concert house, all rolled into one. Spread across 2500 square meters (26909.78 square feet), Camp and Furnace is a combination of three former warehouses. When the art center, A Foundation, closed its doors in 2011, Camp and Furnace took over, transforming it into more than just a gallery. You can participate in festivals, be an audience to an entertaining concert, enjoy clubbing or relish delicious food and drink at Camp and Furnace.
